I want to apologize for the back-to-back giveaway posts. The last thing I want is for my blog to be one big ad, but when it involves a giveaway for you guys, I have a really hard time saying no! I love when I get the opportunity to give things away!

Sooo.. the 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon. That was fun. I’m going be be 100% honest here and say that if it weren’t for the fact that my husband and friends were running this race, there’s a good chance that it would have been my first DNS.
Just about a week and a half ago (heyyy look at me getting a post up in a timely manner!!), Adam and I loaded up the car and were headed to Orlando for the 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon weekend. I debated which I should post first – a general overview of what we did over the weekend or a recap of the race. I decided to talk about the weekend first. As soon as we arrived at the Wide World of Sports, I met up with Andrea and we headed over to the Cigna Blogger Cook-Off. Cigna is the official sponsor of the Walt Disney World Marathon and I was really excited when I received the email inviting me to the event.
A week from today, the ZOOMA Florida race weekend kicks off! As I’m sure you know by now, I’m one of the ZOOMA Florida Ambassadors and I’m looking forward to the race weekend! I’ve been going back and forth trying to decide what distance to sign up for (the options are 5K, 12K, and half marathon) and I think I’ve settled on the 12K. I’m not sure my legs will be up for a half marathon just six days after running a marathon and with a 12K, I get an insta-PR! Who doesn’t love that?!
A few years ago, before we started trying to have a second baby, I thought it might be a good idea to start running. I couldn’t quite wrap my head around how I was supposed to have time to run, work full-time, keep the house somewhat clean, and be a good wife and mom. The thought of it was completely overwhelming. A friend of mine recommended a book to me and I took my time reading it over the next few weeks. I loved the book, but I kept thinking that the authors were real athletes, they’d always been runners, their kids were older.. I had a million reasons why it was easier for them to find time to run than it was for me (you can laugh at me, it’s okay, I know how ridiculous this sounds now!).
I’ve been looking forward to this race weekend since August, when I applied to be an ambassador for the ZOOMA Florida half marathon. A weekend away with some of my girlfriends, eating at yummy restaurants, running a half in a gorgeous location, an after party old and new friends, lots of wine, massages, yoga, and awesome swag.. who wouldn’t??
That’s how long it’s been since I’ve written a blog post — oops!
Oh my goodness, we had so much fun! I’m not a super girly-girl, but the idea of crawling through mud didn’t exactly thrill me. I’ve heard how much fun these events are though and I really wanted to try one. I figured we couldn’t go wrong with LoziLu – it’s a women’s mud run so it couldn’t be too bad, right?
A football game, fall festival, work dinner turned surprise birthday celebration?! All in one day? Yes!
I seriously have the most wonderful friends. I really am a lucky girl.
