I hope y’all had a great Halloween weekend! Friday night was busy, as expected, but the rest of our weekend was very relaxing — definitely a welcome change from our normal weekends where we’re running all over the place!
Friday afternoon, Mackenzie’s school hosted their annual costume parade. Typically it falls on the Friday before Halloween so it’s not a big deal
Well hello there strangers! It’s been a while. Things have been busy around here and I haven’t had a chance to sit down and write. I’m going to try to catch y’all up on the big things that have been going on now so this may be a little long. I promise lots of pictures and not too much yacking from me though! Ready?

I know, I know.. we’re almost halfway through November and I am just now posting Halloween pictures. Mommy blogger FAIL.
Forgive me, work has been kicking my butt and I’m struggling to keep the four (five counting Buddy) of us alive, fed, clean, and living in a somewhat tidy house. Plus that whole marathon training nonsense. I promise the cuteness in these pictures makes up for the delay
Braden has been looking forward to Halloween for a few weeks – he couldn’t wait to wear his costume and go trick or treating! I picked the kids up a bit early from school and we went to our neighborhood amenity center for a little Halloween party and costume contest. There are some seriously adorable children in our area.. and creative parents too!
We tried to start off with Mackenzie’s.. but the decorating kit that we bought was too big for the pumpkin and Mackenzie was having more fun sticking the foam stickers to herself and the table, then attempting to eat the pumpkin, so we gave up and let her do her thing.
We moved on to Braden’s Captain America pumpkin. I’ve never used
We try to make it out to the big pumpkin patch/farm every year, but this year has been crazy and we just haven’t had time. There’s a small pumpkin patch in our neighborhood, so we stopped by tonight to pick up pumpkins to carve tomorrow. Braden wasn’t feeling 100% so it was a quick stop.
Every year, my friend Jenn throws an amazing Halloween Party. This year was no different! There were delicious treats (of course!), yummy things to drink, perfect photo ops, a haunted forest with treats along the way, plus some really great people. I look forward to it every year, and each year she tops the last!
The kids school has a Halloween parade on the last Friday before Halloween. I look forward to it every year, it’s so much fun seeing all of the little ones dressed up in their costumes and SO excited for Halloween. This year, Mackenzie is a little ladybug. Cutest little ladybug ever, I say She wasn’t sure what was going on with the parade, she kept wandering back and forth around the
This was the first year that we decided to take Braden trick-or-treating. To be honest, I have issues with parents who take their itty-bitty kids trick-or-treating. We all know you’re getting the candy for yourself! I just think it’s weir, but whatever. We took Braden to a few of the houses right around ours.. he wasn’t too sure about it at first, until he realized all he
Our good friends hosted their annual Halloween Boo-tacular party for our kiddos again this year, and it was fabulous as always. You can see their pictures from the day here.
Braden enjoyed painting a pumpkin..
And himself..
While Mackenzie napped on her daddy..
B wasn’t feeling 100% so he snuck in some daddy-cuddle time too.
After the party, we headed to The Avenue’s to trick-or-treat
