After some time in the ice bath and a long, hot shower, we were off to the Magic Kingdom. Yes, I know, there are three other parks at Disney World.. my son, however, doesn’t care. We’ve taken him to Hollywood Studio’s, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom and the entire time we’re there (minus when we’re on Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios), he is asking to go to the Magic Kingdom. We finally gave up and just take him to his happy place.. over, and over, and over..

Magic Kingdom with Grandma, Grandpa & Uncle D
After Braden’s race was over, we hopped on the monorail and made our way to the Magic Kingdom. Our first stop, as always, was the Buzz Lightyear ride. We rarely make it out of Tomorrowland and Fantasyland, all of B’s favorite rides are there. He was insistent that he needed to take Grandma and Grandpa on the Buzz Lightyear ride and teach them how to shoot the Z’s, to defend our galaxy from the Evil Emperor Zurg!
Braden’s Mickey Mile
One of the things that I adore about Disney is how they find a way to involve everyone in their events – half marathon weekend with kids races? Sure, why not! The kids love it and if we’re being honest, I think the parents do too! We originally planned to sign Braden up for the 200m dash again, but by the time my mommy brain got around to registering, it was full. The only thing still open was the 1-mile run. I wasn’t really sure if he’d actually do it, but I figured it’s $10, why not try?
Are you ready for some football?!
Braden had his very first football practice today. A bunch of 4 and 5-year-old’s running around attempting to play football is hilarious. It’s like hearding cats.
Culture Parade
September is culture month at the kids school. They learn about a variety of different cultures and wrap up the month with a parade where each class dresses up to represent a different country and culture. Mackenzie is in the toddler room and they were proudly representing Japan.
Happy Birthday Grandma!
We celebrated Grandma Levenia’s birthday tonight – she’s 54! We had dinner at O’Charley’s and then hung out at my parents house for a bit and enjoyed some yummy cake and ice cream. I love Publix cookie cake. So good.
Happy Birthday Adam!
Adam’s birthday actually isn’t until tomorrow, but we decided to celebrate today since Mondays are usually chaotic around here. We didn’t plan anything big, just went out to dinner with my parents and then went home for his favorite dessert, cheesecake.<
Braden’s Birthday Eve!
For the last few weeks, we have been asking Braden what he wants for his birthday. He hasn’t changed his mind once. All he wants is to stay in a hotel and play in the pool. Except it sounds like “I want to go to the HOE-tel!” It cracks me up every time I hear it!
Baby Hudson is coming!
My cousin Drew and his wife Amanda are expecting their first baby, Hudson Gregory! We are absolutely thrilled for them and cannot wait to meet this little guy! My family hosted a shower for little Hudson today in Bainbridge. Daryl and Celia were kind enough to let us use their new home. It’s seriously gorgeous and was Celia’s grandmothers house. It’s in the historic part of Downtown Bainbridge and is just amazing.
Spring Fling!
The kids school had its annual Spring Fling tonight. It is a fundraiser that benefits Wolfon’s Children’s Hospital, so we make it a point to go every year. It’s always a good time and the older Braden gets, the more he seems to enjoy it. When we first told him we were going back to school, he was not happy, but once we got there and he realized we were staying too, he was thrilled to be with his friends. It’s so odd to me that he has this whole little world outside of us. He has friends and does things that we have no clue about. It’s so nice to get a peek inside. The Spring Fling is basically a little carnival. Each teacher had a booth set up and all of the playgrounds were open. By far, Braden’s favorite thing was the pony ride.
