1.  Garth Brooks is coming to Jacksonville and I got tickets to see him!!  Floor seats!!  After how quickly his shows in Chicago and Atlanta sold out, I was paranoid about not being able to get tickets, especially since I was trying to get six together.  I got really lucky though thanks to a tip from my cousin, Amanda!  I seriously cannot wait – I was a little bit obsessed with him when I was younger (*NSYNC and Backstreet Boys had nothing on him in my teenage mind!) but the last time he was here in concert was 17 years ago and my parents thought I was too young to go (I was 15).

2.  This is Chance.  He and his older brother Jake were dumped in our neighborhood at the end of August and have been wandering around ever since.  Jake was hit by a car earlier this week and sadly, he passed away.  There’s a group of us in the neighborhood that have been trying to catch this guy so we can keep him from being hit as well, which is why we decided Chance was a good name for him — we’re hoping he gets a second Chance!  He’s a little stinker though, he runs from us.  Thursday afternoon, I picked Braden up from school and we were driving around a neighborhood where someone said they saw him, but we couldn’t find him.  Imagine my surprise as we turned into our neighborhood and this guy was sprawled out in my front yard, enjoying the shade from the palm trees.  He ran from us as soon as we got out of the car and even offering food wouldn’t get him anywhere near us.  There are two traps out and one of the ladies is putting fresh food in it for Chance nightly, so at least we know he’s eating.  He is a smart little guy though and manages to get the food without getting caught in the trap.  Keep your fingers crossed that we’re able to keep him safe and find a great home for him!

3.  This is totally random, but something that I see quite often that I just don’t get.  It amazes me what people post on Facebook.  I’m not talking about my friends, I’m talking about complete strangers that comment on articles/photos that are posted by public pages.  Hateful and mean things, judgmental and completely useless things.  Do they not realize that they’re posting with their full names, how easy it is to find people these days, and that there are crazies out there?!  Seeing what they post worries me for our future, but then there are those who go out of their way to try to save a stray dog and I know there are still good people out there.  We just need to keep being good.

4.  Mackenzie started ballet last month and it is seriously SO cute!  She’s actually taking two ballet classes, one at a local rec center and another at her preschool.  Y’all, forgive me in advance, but this site is going to be FULL of ridiculously cute recital pictures in May!!  She’s also doing gymnastics at the rec center and was doing cheerleading, but she wasn’t a huge fan of it and it conflicted with ballet at her preschool, so we pulled her out.

5.  Flat Stanley!!  We’ve had a few Flat Stanley’s visit us in the past and I was looking forward to when it was Braden’s turn to send his own Stanley out on an adventure.. in fact, I think I was more excited than Braden was about it.  Oh well!  He’s off visiting my Aunt Louise this week in Bainbridge.  She works in a medical office, so he’s been there greeting everyone as they come in and one sweet kid even gave him a sticker  I can’t wait to see where he is off to next!
