You may recall that last year, in what can only be described as a momentary loss of sanity, I decided to drive back from Orlando after finishing the Wine & Dine half marathon a little after midnight and partaking in the post-race festivities in EPCOT to participate in the ZOOMA Florida Training Kick-Off run. When I told my husband about my plan, I honestly think he contemplated divorce for a minute. I mean, what normal person gets up after sleeping for 3ish hours to drive home to run some more? This girl!

2014 Gate River Run 15K
Ohh look, I’m finally recapping the 2014 Gate River Run, it’s about time since the race was in mid-March! Last year was the first time I ran the Gate River Run. It’s a HUGE event in Jacksonville, it seems like everyone in our running community runs it. This year, if I remember correctly, there were just under 20,000 runners and walkers. It’s hard for me to visualize that many people.. maybe it is for you too? This should help.. this is the Main Street Bridge in downtown Jax.
2014 Flavor Run Jacksonville
I’m like a million years late writing this recap and it’s not because I didn’t have fun. I had a blast. How could you not with this craziness going on?!
2014 ZOOMA Florida Half Marathon
I’ve been looking forward to this race weekend since August, when I applied to be an ambassador for the ZOOMA Florida half marathon. A weekend away with some of my girlfriends, eating at yummy restaurants, running a half in a gorgeous location, an after party old and new friends, lots of wine, massages, yoga, and awesome swag.. who wouldn’t??
ZOOMA Florida Training Kick-Off
We all know that I can be a little bit ridiculous at times, right?
2013 Evergreen Pumpkin Run 10-Miler
I’ve been looking forward to this race for a few months. A long, long time ago (like before we had kids), a friend of mine tried to get me and another friend to do this race with her. I told her she was completely nuts because there was no way I could EVER run 10 miles without dying. She was in the middle of training for her first marathon, so 10 miles was no big deal to her. (We ended up doing the Race for the Cure with her instead, and walked almost the whole thing!)
2013 Inspired Yoga + Run
The week before last, I mentioned in my Five Things Friday post that I was doing the Inspired Yoga + Run with the ZOOMA ladies. I won a free entry to the contest on a blog, then was offered a free entry since I’m an ambassador for their race next January in Amelia Island. I was really looking forward to meeting the ladies behind the race, so even though we all know I’m NOT a morning person, I got up before the crack of dawn and made the 45-minute trek out to Jax Beach for this inspiring event.

Run ZOOMA? Yes, Please!
Since I set my goal of running a half marathon a year ago, then realizing I actually could do it, I’ve been scouring the internet looking for races to fill my bucket list. There are so many out there that look like such an amazing time.. there was one that caught my eye though — ZOOMA Florida Half Marathon & 5K.
2013 Tour de Pain
According to 1st Place Sports, this race series is designed to test your ability to run three different races in a twenty-four hour period. Your time in each of the three events is added together to determine your place for the Tour de Pain. I couldn’t decide how to write this recap. Since it was a series of three races so I was going to break it into three, but really it was kind of like one big race since they were run so close together and they all affected each other. I decided to put them all together, so forgive me if this is long!
