2013 Tour de Pain

According to 1st Place Sports, this race series is designed to test your ability to run three different races in a twenty-four hour period. Your time in each of the three events is added together to determine your place for the Tour de Pain.  I couldn’t decide how to write this recap. Since it was a series of three races so I was going to break it into three, but really it was kind of like one big race since they were run so close together and they all affected each other. I decided to put them all together, so forgive me if this is long!

Run for Boston

I haven’t posted much lately.. maybe you’ve noticed, maybe you haven’t.  When the bombings at the Boston Marathon happened, I kind of pulled back from social media and unplugged a bit.  I felt like I was attacked in a community where I’ve always felt safe and welcome.  I was having a really hard time processing my feelings and figuring out how I felt.  I spent a lot of time watching the news, glued to the television for some reason why this happened.  I have a hard time with not understanding why.

2013 St. Patty’s Day 10K at Evergreen Cemetery

Today ran the St. Patty’s Day 10K at Evergreen Cemetery.  Yep, I said “we”.  The running bug bit my husband too and after watching his best friend cross the finish line at the Disney Marathon in January, Adam decided that he wanted to run a half marathon too.  He started training a few months back and had a 6-mile training run scheduled for this weekend.  I wanted to run this race and since it fit well into his training and my racing schedule, we signed up.

2013 Gate River Run 15K

One of the things I love about living in Florida is being surrounded by water.  It’s so peaceful and relaxing – I love being out on a boat in the middle of the river, floating on a raft in the pool, or even just staring out my office window at the beautiful (but not so clean) St. John’s River when I’m stressed out at work.
