Coffee Date

I started doing coffee date posts a while back. I love that it’s an easy way to catch you up on what we’re up to, without having to write a dozen different posts to keep it all organized, so I was thrilled when I saw that Jill, Nikki, and Lynda are hosting a link up once a month for the ultimate coffee date! Funny thing though, I’m already a week late for the first one.. oops. I can’t remember a time where my work schedule has been this busy, for this long.. but I guess it’s a good problem to have? Better than the alternative, for sure.

Clearing Out the Dust Bunnies

I kind of don’t know where to start.  I have a million posts swirling around in my head, I started making a list and it’s quite long and that’s just what I came up with off the top of my head.  I guess that’s what happens when you don’t blog for a month.  Work has been keeping me so busy and by the time I am done (which has been in the wee hours of the morning, for the last three weeks) with work for the day, the last thing I want to do is spend a second longer sitting in front of the computer.  Even if it’s to write about things I enjoy.

Catch Up. Ketchup. Catsup.

Or in other words, I’m a big nerd.  I’m okay with that.  I am no good at coming up with post titles and for some reason when I wrote “Catch Up”, it made me think of ketchup.  Then I remembered when I was younger seeing it spelled “catsup” and thinking it was strange.  So there you go.

2014 Walt Disney World Marathon

2014DisneyMarathon

Like I mentioned in my post about the day before the race, I’d really been looking forward to the Walt Disney World Marathon since the Space Coast Marathon.  I’d really been beating myself up about how I performed there and knew that I could do a lot better.  I think there were a lot of things that contributed to me not really being very motivated to push myself that day — I was bored, the hills were annoying, and I really just didn’t feel up to it.  That wasn’t the case the morning of the Walt Disney World Marathon.  I really wanted to do better, I wanted to do what I knew I was capable of and what I had trained for.

Almost Time for Marathon #2

I’ve been looking forward to this race since approximately 5.78 seconds after I crossed the finish line at the Space Coast Marathon.  When I finished feeling great, with a huge smile on my face, I knew I could have done better.  Much, much better.  I finished though, and for your first marathon, that’s all that really matters.  I learned a lot, but most of all learned to respect the distance.  In case you didn’t know, 26.2 miles is a really long way to run.

Happy Friday!

I actually started writing this post last Friday and never finished it.. Braden has been out of school and we’ve been so busy.  I’m loving the extra time with Adam and the kiddo’s!  We’re running out the door in just a bit to see Frozen, so here’s a quick run down of what we’ve been up to..

Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend

After the Meet-Up on Friday night and before the Wine & Dine Half on Saturday night, Adam and I spent some time in Orlando on our own.  It was really strange being there without Braden and Mackenzie.  The entire time, I felt like we were forgetting something.  I’d forgotten how easy it is to do stuff without little ones and all of their stuff.  We missed them though, there were several times that we each commented on things we knew they’d love and how we want to bring them back soon.  Disney with kids really is magical.  It’s fun with adults, but it’s just not the same.

2013 Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon

We’ve been looking forward to the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon since we signed up for it at the Princess Half Expo in February.  It was our first time leaving both kids for more than an overnight with our parents, I’ve never been to the Food & Wine festival, and running another Disney race?  Definitely a recipe for a wonderful weekend with my husband, right?  Right.  Or not.
