In honor of National Puppy Day, here are a few pictures of our boys when they were itty-bitty puppies. It is really hard for me to believe Rex turned one last month and Buddy will be 11 this November. Time is a jerk. It needs to stop flying by so quickly.
This was one of those rare weekends where it felt like it lasted longer than two days. A big part of that is probably because we pretty much stayed home all day Sunday, which is my least favorite weekend thing-to-do, but the kids wanted to do it so we did!
Okay, rewind a bit! Since we spent nearly three weeks home over the Christmas, I have several random pictures from the rest of our break that make me smile but aren’t exactly worthy of their own post. If you’re here to read about running, you probably want to skip over this one. If you like to see pictures of the cutest kids ever (okay maybe I’m a wee bit biased..) they are, each with a quick sentence.
Or at least, that’s how it feels. A killer sinus infection, followed by a lovely allergic reaction, has had me on my butt for the last few days. I’ve also been off work since December 23rd, so I think this is the first time I’ve actually turned on my computer since then. I feel like our Christmas break flew by so fast. When it started, I was so excited for two weeks of just hanging out with my family and friends without a ton of obligations, but like usual, we found things to keep us busy and then I got sick.. and here we are. I’m going to try to keep it short today and just share a few pictures of what we were up to before Christmas.
I hope y’all had a great Halloween weekend! Friday night was busy, as expected, but the rest of our weekend was very relaxing — definitely a welcome change from our normal weekends where we’re running all over the place!
First, I wanted to say thank you so much for all of the well-wishes for Mackenzie. After a week and a half at home with me, she is finally fever-free and back at school today! They moved her up to a new class while she was out with several of her older friends, so while she didn’t exactly want me to leave, she was excited to see them!
A little over a year ago when we lost Sammy, I wasn’t sure when I’d be ready to adopt another dog. Losing him was hard and we still miss him every day. After a few months, I realized that Buddy missed him too. Buddy has never been a super active dog, but he wasn’t his normal self. Our house was too quiet too. I know, it’s amusing to think of a house as quiet with two little ones and a dog, but it was. I was used to having Sam underfoot, always nuzzling me with his nose for attention or stepping on my feet, wrestling with Buddy or chasing him around. I missed the chaos
So, you know how I’ve been griping for the last few months about how busy work is and how I barely have time for anything outside of work and family time? I’m so, so happy to say that it is over! The deadline we’ve been working toward was June 26th and I am so, so glad that it has passed AND that I got all of my work done on time – SUCH a relief!!
I kind of don’t know where to start. I have a million posts swirling around in my head, I started making a list and it’s quite long and that’s just what I came up with off the top of my head. I guess that’s what happens when you don’t blog for a month. Work has been keeping me so busy and by the time I am done (which has been in the wee hours of the morning, for the last three weeks) with work for the day, the last thing I want to do is spend a second longer sitting in front of the computer. Even if it’s to write about things I enjoy.
